My Pavilion t720m comes near a D partition that have an HP restore icon and it is roughly 4GB, but if I double click on it a message comes up saying I should not modify the files on drive D. I would resembling to bring my computer to its original state and I thought that it be what those files were for. any thoughts?

the restore divider on your harddrive is typically used to made restore DVDs or CDs. if you look through your programs from the start menu, you should see a HP image or HP restore program. That's what I have to do when I got my HP laptop. It made 3 cds from that separator. then one of the cd's you gross is a BOOT cd. You put that in the pc's cd rom drive and after restart the pc. It will after prompt you for the steps in restoring the notebook to factory settings.

NOTE, you may need your disc Key or serial number to activate window.
Reboot and tap the f10 switch.
