how come os will not boot up?

ive get a xp disc and im trying to reformat my computer but when i start up computer it wont boot from disc. i hit f8 and it doesnt have a boot up from disc format on in attendance

how come os will not boot up?

Need to go within to setup and set comp to boot cd first. There should be a little message during boot that say press f? to enter setup. Press the F-whatever key and adjust the boot sequence to cd first. That should solve the problem.
You need to step into your computers bios and set it to bott up from your c/d drive
Make sure the CD drive is installed correctly, and set up contained by your bios, otherwise it might not give you the alternative to boot to it.

If you have a floppy drive, you can kind a boot disk from an NT based electrical device (windows NT, 2000, XP) with compact disc support.

Boot to the floppy, then run the install from the disc drive.
yes as the other person said u will inevitability to goto the bios and change the bios sequence to cd drive first, or u can goto http://www.bootdisk.com and download the xp floppy bootdisks.
Change the boot sequence contained by your BIOS to boot from CD-ROM first, or boot to DOS, booting to DOS can only be done by booting up to a Windows Startup disk.
Hi. Good answers above. Some BIOS systems use the "Delete" button to enter BIOS setup.
spawn sure that the cd from where u r trying to install is bootable.

if it is so later change the boot seqence contained by BIOS and make disc first bood device.

when u see message "press any key to boot from compact disc..." then hit any switch on keyboard

hope problem is solved!!

relish!!!
