How do I hindmost up notes on my workstation at home?

get hold of an external hard drive. consequently plug it into your PC. then copy and bond every single file contained by your hard drive onto it. do this again every very soon and then (deleting the dated files on the external hard drive). this is more reliable surrounded by case your computer completely screw up.
You an do this several ways. You can backup onto a cd (if you have a cd burner), seize an external harddrive to transfer information to, you can get a jumpdrive (usb storage device, roughly speaking a gig or so of data).

Make sure you enjoy all the programs you use & their license in suitcase you ever need to reinstall them. Including your operating system (should enjoy come with the notebook when you bought it if you didn't buy it seperate).
copy all your files into a compact disc or DVD and also create a backup.

There is no point in copying "every single file", since you cannot restore programs from a backup - you can singular reinstall them. I like an external drive to rear legs up DATA files and I use Beyond Compare (it was free, may still be). This wonderful software will compare files or folders on your C: drive to those on the external drive and update any that enjoy changed since you last did it,
