Sounds resembling spyware/viruses. Run a spyware remover and virus scan
Does it just stop working on a fastidious website? Clean out your temporary internet files etc that might assist

If you own XP (SP2) goto microsoft.com and download Internet Explorer 7 (IE-7) :if you have XP but not SP2 you can download SP2 first consequently IE-7 problems should go away.



Another substitute is to not use internet explorer and download google Firefox - works better than IE-6 and I use it sometimes when the application calls it up.
