How do AMD ATHLON 64 X2 5600 compare next to intels E6700?

E6700 is Core 2 Duo near 2 CPUs at 2.66 GHz. Athlon 64 5600 has 2 CPUs at 2.8 GHz. Core 2 Duo is slightly more streamlined, so they are probably equal on average. 5600 consumes more watts and has smaller L2 cache but have larger L1 cache and superior memory bus structure.
Depends what application your running,

Intels last longer...
E6700 performered faster than more advanced Athlon chips contained by most tests. E6700 = 4 CPUs surrounded by 1 socket. Athlon x2 = 2 Cpus in 1 socket.
By proposal, the 5600 is equal to an Athlon FX-62......

It seems that the E6700 is still slightly faster surrounded by most aspects compared to the Athlon64 X2 5600.
