how can i reformat my xp lacking a working cdrom drive?

how can i reformat my xp lacking a working cdrom drive?

Hey check this free software out call Kill Disk.exe this thing will work on boot up and verbs all facts on one hard drive. http://www.kildisk.com
you cant
Use an out-of-date windows 98SE floppy boot disk near format.com on the floppy.
You will need to own a reference point of some sort, such as an external drive that the Drive to be formatted can see. You can reformat next to a floppy disk, but the big question is how can you acquire the setup files to the drive?

So, if you have a second PC, you can try and connect the drive that process... but then, the just way I am aware of that will work is if the second PC act as a server. It will be very trouble-free to get a phantasm image on to the drive if you hold a network? However, your bootdisk will stipulation network drivers. So vitally, you would find it easier to use a CD drive somehow. Especially since disc drives are so cheap.
Unless you have access to an external USB CD-Rom, you cannot reformat, as adjectives the files are on a CD.

With the price of a unknown drive being what they are, I'd suggest to obtain a new one, they are not easier said than done to self install.
if your CD drive isn't working, check your not putting the IDE cable contained by upside down, it stops it working, make sure the jumper on the back are configured correctly, if you can't bring it to work, buy a new one you can do so for smaller number than 20 dollors now, of late a basic 1, hook it up 2 your mobo, and away you turn
